Most Expensive Diamond Tattoo


South African jeweler Yair Shimansky has come up with a temporary tattoo made completely out of 612 half-carat diamonds which the nifty price tag of $924,000 and sets the world record for the Most Expensive Diamond Tattoo.  Photo: The world’s most expensive diamond tattoo is valued at 7.2 million South African rands, or around 924,000 US dollars, and the luxury jeweler has considered making similar tattoos available at any of their eight South African or four international locations.     The jeweler introduced the ornate floral diamond design on brand model Minki van der Westhuizen - who spent more than eight hours having the 612 diamonds encrusted on her skin using a special water-based adhesive.

   The World's Most Expensive Diamond Tattoo follows another endeavor by Shimansky, created especially for the on going World Cup games - a 3,500 carats diamond-studded football.

New York’s Ty Warner Penthouse Suite – One of the Most Expensive Hotel Rooms in the World


The most expensive hotel in New York City is the Four Seasons Hotel New York. Named for the hotel’s owner and Beanie Baby mogul, the $35,000 per night Ty Warner Penthouse suite is one of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world.
The 4,300 square foot nine room Four Seasons penthouse boasts phenomenal views of Manhattan . The one-of-a-kind suite is lavished with custom made furniture. Guests, whom are usually billionaires that are accompanied by their significant others, have full use of either a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Phantom or Mercedes Maybach.
Paneled with wood, the hand lacquered walls are inlaid with mother of pearl. The handmade Venetian silk bedspread that surrounds the canopy bed is woven of Thai silk and is interspersed with lines of 22 carat gold threads.
To reduce the wear and tear on the accommodations, the hotel will only permit ten patrons to occupy it at any one time.
In the United States the only more expensive suite is the $40,000 per night Hugh Hefner Sky Villa at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. However, half the time the most expensive suite in Las Vegas is occupied the hotel is not receiving any money directly for its use. That’s because it is used as a comp for high rollers who have a $500,000 credit line. The rest of the time it is primarily used for functions, such as wedding receptions.

£2m solid gold Bugatti Veyron


What you’re seeing here a solid goal, diamond-encrusted 1:18 scale model of the Bugatti Veyron. The scale model of the Veyron is made of 24-carat gold, platinum and is decorated with 7.2 carat single cut diamonds. The doors, steering and the hood are all functional.
Known as the Bugatti Veyron Diamond Limited Edition model, the scale supercar is the work of Munich-based Robert Gulpen and Liverpool-based Stuart Hughes.
Only 3 units will be made with prices starting at £2 million ($2.94 million USD) – more than the real Veyron itself. Yes, and we’re pretty certain there are some affluent crazy people out there that will buy this.

Black diamond gets play in 'Sex and the City 2'

New York--Spoiler alert! Sex and the City fans will remember that at the end of the 2008 film, Carrie Bradshaw got engaged with a diamond-encrusted shoe rather than a diamond-encrusted ring. While it seemed a fitting engagement for the die-hard fashionista, fans who might have been gunning to see Carrie get a ring will finally get their wish.

Back for another round in Sex and the City 2, which opened at the No. 2 spot at the box office this weekend, Carrie and her trio of best friends, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, sport jewelry throughout, but the piece that's getting fans talking is a 5-carat diamond ring from designer Itay Malkin.

The hefty carat weight makes for a talking point of its own, but the real buzz factor is the diamond's hue. For fearless fashionista Carrie--who was ready to get married in the first film wearing a bright blue feather on her head--a crystal clear diamond ring just wouldn't do.

In the final scene, Carrie's longtime love, Big, presents her with a black diamond ring, explaining "because you are not like anyone else."

According to a media release from Malkin, during prep for the film, the search was on for black diamond rings. Writer/director Michael Patrick King and actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie, sifted through designs from more than 20 jewelry designers before selecting one of two rings anonymously submitted by Malkin.

To finalize the design, Malkin worked in collaboration with Parker and costume designer Patricia Field, debuting on the big screen a 5-carat black diamond ring set in 18-karat white gold and surrounded by 80 round natural colorless pave diamonds.

Fans inspired to own a black diamond ring of their own--especially one like Carrie's--will be happy to find out that the ring won't just live on film. Itay Malkin will produce a replica ring in a limited-edition series, each stamped with the limited-edition serial number and certificate.
