Her ring was unique in that it was comprised of an 18-carat blue oval sapphire encompassed by fourteen diamonds. The enormous blue oval was truly a beautiful piece, and very unique to the princess. She was an icon, and still is remembered for her beauty and the amazing work that she did. The ring was a great representation of her individuality and beauty of spirit. Although the marriage ended in divorce, the public still remembers the beauty of that engagement ring.

Princess Diana's Ring -- Now In Kate's Hands


Prince William gave his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton, now his fiancee, an engagement ring that once belonged to her mother, Princess Diana, the spokesperson of William’s father Prince Charles said.

The ring is 18 carats and contains 14 small diamonds surrounding an oval blue sapphire. The late Princess Diana chose this ring at the Garrard Jewelers to be her engagement ring.

The royal wedding is set for either the spring or summer of 2011.
